Frequently asked questions

How do I make a custom tuning?

Choose “Custom tuning…” in the tuning menu (on this page it opens automatically), then pick a note for each string. Your changes are saved straight away.

Is my custom tuning saved?

Yes, it is saved in your browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded, so it won’t appear on your other devices.

Can I tune instruments other than guitar?

Yes. Set any notes on 3 to 12 strings to tune a tenor guitar, a lap steel or a folk instrument. For wind instruments and voice, the chromatic tuner is easier.
