The fingerstyle favourite
Tenor ukuleles use G C E A. They are also the size most often strung with a low G (G3), which adds an extra-low string and a wider range.
Whichever you use, pick it in the menu so the tuner listens for the right octave.

Frequently asked questions
Is a tenor ukulele tuned differently?
Usually not. It is tuned G4 C4 E4 A4, like soprano and concert. Many tenor players switch to low G (G3 C4 E4 A4) for a deeper range.
What is the difference between tenor and baritone ukulele tuning?
Tenor uses G C E A. The larger baritone ukulele is tuned D G B E, like the four highest strings of a guitar.
Can I tune a tenor ukulele to D tuning?
Yes. Every string goes up a whole step, to A D F♯ B. Choose D (Canadian) in the menu, and tune up slowly so you don’t over-tighten the strings.
